God is the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe. Before this world was created, He was. After everything has been, He shall be.1 How can we know about Him?
By simply looking at nature we may know His Wisdom and Power. The whole earth is full of His glory.2 His infinite wisdom is written all over the world.3 We know that His power is far beyond anything existing in this vast universe, for it is God who has made the world and everything in it.4
By far the greatest explanation of God’s Person is to be found in the Book of God, the Bible. There we learn that He is Spirit 5, He is Living 6, He is Infinite 7, He is Truth 8,
He is Holy 9, and He is Love.10
Additional characteristics of the Person of God are revealed through His Names. He is spoken of as EL, or Elah, meaning the Strong one. He is called Jehovah, meaning the Self-Existent One, and Adoni, meaning the Master of All. To these are added compounding names such as El Shaddai, meaning All Sufficiency; El Elyon, meaning God Most High; and El Olam, meaning God of all Eternity.11
The power of God has no limits. Each new scientific discovery reveals more of His might. The earth itself is an amazing demonstration of His ability. The universe is a complete revelation of God’s strength and energy. God is greater than the sum total of all that He has created.12
God is Supreme over all. He can never be surprised, defeated, or uncertain. He yields to no power, decree or authority. He represents Perfection to the highest degree in every aspect of His being.
The OMNIPOTENCE OF GOD
He cannot be overcome.13

The TRANSCENDENCE OF GOD
